Shopping Information

How Long Will It Take To Get My Package?

If we have the item in stock you will receive your order within 1-2 business days. For backorders we endeavour to have the order in your hands within 1 week, although this time frame may be shorter/longer depending on the item’s origin. This will all be communicated but if you need an accurate delivery date it’s best to contact us beforehand to ensure you are not disappointed.

Do You Ship Nationally?

The simple answer is unfortunately no– but we are exploring the possibility of national deliveries for our more premium brands. If you would like one of our products shipped nationally please email us and we will do our best to make a plan for you.

Why Does It Say “No Shipping Available” At Checkout?

There are two potential reasons for this:

  1. You filled in your postal/zip code incorrectly. If you live within our free delivery zone you can ignore this message and proceed with payment– you will not be charged for delivery.
  2. Your shipping address is unfortunately situated outside of our free delivery zone. Please do not proceed with payment.

How Often Are Online Stock Levels Updated?

At least twice a week. Unlike many online stores, Jack Hammer’s is ultimately two functioning hardware stores and therefore stock levels are changing everyday. We do our best to give an accurate representation of live stock levels.

Payment Information

What Payment Methods Are Accepted?

Credit/cheque cards, instant EFT and Masterpass are all processed instantly through PayFast. We also accept Direct Bank Transfers but will only deliver products once this payment reflects in our account.

Is Buying On-Line Safe?

If you select PayFast as your preferred method of payment you will automatically be directed to their extremely secure server and the transaction takes place there. If you are uncertain please see their Security and Fraud Prevention page

Orders and Returns

How Do I Place An Order?

Simply add your selected products to your Shopping Cart and once you’re finished shopping proceed to Checkout. At checkout you must select your preferred method of payment and once completed, you will receive an email confirming your order.

Do I Need An Account To Place An Order?

No. You may place an order as a guest. We do recommend creating an Account to make the checkout easier as it will autofill your address and keep track of your past orders. We will not spam you with any annoying newsletters.

Who Should I Contact If I Have Any Queries?

Since we operate two separate shops it becomes tricky to know which branch to contact. For general queries please email Tim at online@jackhammers.co.za.

If you live in Hout Bay or Llandudno your best bet will be to call our Hout Bay branch on 021 790 0000 and if you live in Cape Town/Atlantic Seaboard then call our Gardens shop on 021 462 0000 and ask for Michaelynn.
